まもりたい~White Wish~ UPDATED

Namco Bandai announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2009 that the main theme song for Tales of Graces, the 12th installment of the famous Japanese RPG (stands for role-playing game) series, is "まもりたい~White Wish~" (I want to protect her~White Wish~). Unfortunately the song has not been released yet, but I think it's safe to say that since it is BoA working with the Tales series (which has been known for its beautiful soundtrack), something amazing will come out. This may be the perfect combination for the avid video gamers and BoA fanboys (or girls). Tales of Graces is set to be released this December.

There has been an update, an audio update! This awesome song, it's so nice to hear something else from BoA besides something that belongs in the dance genre. Enjoy!!

Nylon Interviews BoA

What song is the most played on your iPod lately?
'N Sync's "Selfish". For some reason, I've been enjoying quiet ballads nowadays. Perhaps it's because I listen to solely dance music during practice.
What did you do yesterday?
Attend a recording meeting for my new upcoming Japanese single.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Drink water.
When you brush your teeth, is there any tune that you hum to?
I'm concentrated on brushing my teeth so I don't hum.
What book are you reading these days?
To be honest, I haven't been able to read many books lately. The most recent thing I read was the souvenir pamphlet on the plane?
How do you usually answer to friends who ask, 'How are you doing?'
"Yes. My life is not any different from others."
What kind of news do you like best?
Any news regarding the currency. I suppose it's because I'm living overseas now. Haha.
Who is your favorite movie character?
Joker from The Dark Knight!
Are there any items you must absolutely keep in your room?
My cellphone charger and the side table next to my bed. The reason for the latter being so I can place my cellphone on top of it.
If a friend comes to visit you in L.A., where is the first place you would take him/her?
Melrose Avenue. There are many, beautiful multi-shops there.
Which restaurants do you like to dine at in L.A.?
Japanese restaurants 'Gonpachi' in Cienega Boulevard and 'Sushi Roku' in 3rd Street, Kings Road Cafe in Beverly Boulevard, and the Korean diners at Koreatown. I also frequently visit game restaurant 'Dave and Busters' and 'Lucky Strike', where I can drink beer and go bowling.
If you could appear on TV, what role of which program would you like to do?
Go Eun Chan from the drama . For some reason, I think I would cross-dress well.
What is the best memory you have of this week?
When it rained. After seeing sunshine everyday, the rain was refreshing.
What is an advantageous benefit of living in the 21st century?
The production of hybrid cars. They're quiet and fuel-efficient.
What is something you would feel sad leaving without?
My cellphone.
What is something you are anticipating right now?
I wish winter would come soon. I bought a new leather jacket that I want to wear.

For now, BoA is preparing to release her repacked self-titled album 'BoA DELUXE' on September 22nd and a new Japanese single called 'BUMP BUMP' on October 21.

BoA and Amber of f(x)

You know BoA's latest US track "Crazy About," produced by Sean Garrett?

Well, because it would be difficult for Sean to attend, BoA has personally requested that Amber of new SM girl group f(x), join her to perform the rap portion of the track! Lots of love in the SM girl group family lately.

The performance will be on October 10th, at 5:00pm in Tokyo. I'm sure there will be many special surprises, so stay tuned!

BUMP BUMP!

Eight months after her last Japanese single, followed by her American debut, BoA is ready to unleash her 28th Japanese single, BUMP BUMP!, featuring VERBAL on 28th October. Bump Bump! is said to be a dance song with a punky beat.

Pictures of her album jacket for this new single were released recently on her official Japanese website, which sees BoA with a tomboyish concept, showing wild sexy charisma. It was also noted that BoA did not don a wig, but had actually cut her hair short for this release, for the first time in 9 years since her debut.

Biography

BoA was discovered when she was 11 years old while accompanying her brother to an audition at SM Entertainment. Her brother didn’t make it, but BoA caught the eye of the talent scout instead.

BoA was trained for two-years before released her debut Korean album, “ID; Peace B” in 2000. The result was moderate, but enough to convince Japan’s Avex Agency to make a joint venture with SM to launch her career in Japan.

BoA released a few singles before making releasing her full Japanese album, “Listen to My Heart” in March 2002. The album was a huge hit; and BoA became the first Korean artist to top the Oricon sales chart.

Following Japan’s success, BoA launched her 2nd Korean album “No.1″ in April, which became one of the best selling albums of the year in Korea. BoA officially stamped her mark as an A-list pop star in the region, and she was just 16.

BoA’s popularity continue to grow across Asia over the years; she is one of only two artists to have six consecutive albums topping Oricon chart. Her popularity in Korea dipped a little though, probably due to her lack of focus at her homeland.

It’s also a known fact that BoA is interested in acting. She voiced for Korean version of Animated film “The Hedge” in May 2006; there were rumours that she would be starring in a full movie, but SM has other plans in mind.

In September 2008, SM announced the plan for BoA’s American debut; she released digital single “Eat You Up” in October 2008, and her self-titled debut English album in March 2009.
